the cosmic surfer.
...we found this on one of our many forays through the internet. And if there's one thing we love, it's good magical stories!
The short version of the myth associated with spectrolite goes something like this... The legend begins after the creation of the Earth, when the thunder god Ukko celebrates his wedding to the mother goddess Rauni.
Rauni was sad that the Earth was mostly made of dark rock, so Ukko sent a violent, short storm. When the storm stopped, a rainbow appeared. Ukko grabbed the rainbow and threw it to Earth, leaving rainbow fragments molten into rock.
This rock is, of course, spectrolite!
Just as the magically iridescent labradorite (labradorite and spectrolite are already very similar) symbolizes healing and transformation, the same applies to spectrolite. However, with one subtle difference. With spectrolite, these healing powers don't come from the stone itself; rather, the stone supports you in finding them within yourself.
All of our jewelry is lovingly handcrafted from silver and sometimes gold. We use natural stones.
No two pieces of jewelry are the same. This gives them a beautiful, imperfect side. It is precisely these small imperfections that give handmade items their unique expression.
